Reporter and anchor Morgan was born on 28 November 1980 in Tusla, Oklahoma. His father left the world when he was just ten years old. He grew up with his elder brother and a mother. His brother ended up in jail for selling drugs.

He joined Jackson State University, Mississippi, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in 2001.
