Malaika Nowitzki was born in July 2013  to mother Jessica Olsson and father Dirk Nowitzki. Her mother belongs to Kenyan descent while his father is a native of Germany. Therefore, Malaika belongs to mixed ethnicity. Her father was a professional basketball before retiring.

Additionally, she is blessed with two younger brother Max Nowitzki born in 2014 and the youngest one named Morris Nowitzki born in 2016. Currently, Malaika is seven years old and enjoying her childhood alongside her brother.

Parents Conjugal Life

Malaika parents Jessica and Derk married in 2012 in an intimate ceremony. The couple first met in 2010 at a charity event for the Sports for Education and Economic Development Project. At that time Olsson worked at an Art gallery in Dallas. It was Malaika’s dad who got struck by the beauty and intelligence of Olsson. Later when asked about his opinion on why he fell in love with Dirk said:

Ultimately, after dating for over two years they walked down the aisle. Dirk wore a shady blue suit and Jessica chose a white long gown. The couple looked oddly cute on their special day. The couple went in the Caribbean for their honeymoon.  Interestingly, Jessica is a sister of Swedish footballers Martin Olsson and Marcus Olsson.

Racial Controversy

Jessica and Dirk’s marriage became a hot topic after they appeared together at the ESPYS, which is an award ceremony for a sportsperson. The public started gossipping about the couple on the day when Malaika’s dad won both the Best Male Athlete andBest NBA Player awards. Sooner things settled after he kissed Olsson before receiving the award. However, the reason behind the gossip was due to the different races they belonged to. The 7 ft tall basketball player gave the statement after the award ceremony saying:

“Nobody actually approached me with it. Everybody that’s met my wife has said she’s great with me,”. “So I haven’t heard any of that to my face. I’m sure there’s some people that think of it to themselves. But, I’ve never heard it to my face.”

Furthermore, Dirk added:

“Growing up in Germany, and basketball, we’ve always grown up around all sorts of races. I played with the national team where half of my teammates were from Yugoslavia. Color or race for me never really mattered, and that’s also the beauty of sports. You’re a team. Same with marriage. You’re a team.”

Well, that sums up about Malaika’s parent’s relationship. As of now, the couples are happily married for over seven years without any controversy or extra-marital affairs. They live in Deloache Ave with three kids including Malaika.

Malaika, currently seven years old is yet to engage in any sort of activity that could yield earning. As of now she must be studying and enjoying her childhood living with her family. Her dad Dirk accumulated a total net worth of $140 million from his career as a basketball player. Her dad is considered as the most genuine and loyal player in the history of sports after he gave up $200 million to stay with Maverick. Similarly, he is the second player to spend two decades in one club after Pam Bryant‘s son Late Kobe Bryant. The 13 times all-star Dirk earned $25 million in 2017/17 season and was held up for another $25 million by his club Maverick.
