He grew up with Nigerian parents who moved to London for better opportunities and livelihood. He was born and raised in London along with his brother. Similarly, he holds a British nationality and belongs to Nigerian-English descent. He is black by ethnicity.

Chidi attended his secondary school at Pensacola Junior College where he started to play for the junior basketball team. Later, he went to Paul Swanson High School for his higher study.
