Denise was the first student who got the scholarship. Then she took admission to Magna Cum Laude University for higher education, where she got a degree in political science and broadcast journalism. Also, she enlisted full-time as a journalist and climate caster at her first TV work on WIXT-TV in Syracuse, doing the daily climate estimate.

At the same time, she finished her senior year at Syracuse University. After that, she joined KSDK-TV in St. Louis, where she filled in as a columnist and anchorperson. In addition to this, she worked for WJKW-TV in Ohio and tied down the top-of-line 6:00 and 11:00 broadcasts.
