Heimo Korth is a hunter, trapper, and fisher in the Coleen River above the Arctic Circle. This American outdoorsman got attention when he began the nominal figure in James Campbell’s book “The Final Frontiersman: Heimo Korth and His Family, Alone in Alaska’s Arctic Wilderness” in 2004.

He earned further popularity after the movie, Surviving Alone in Alaska which documented his lifestyle in 2009. Korth has also featured in the reality TV series The Last Alaskans since 2015. Well, Heimo with his wife, Edna Korth has two daughters named Rhonda and Krin.

However, the couple’s first baby daughter named Coleen Korth (named after river Coleen) died in 1984 due to a tragic incident. Likewise, Heimo’s wife, Edna has a daughter named Millie from her previous marriage. Although Millie is his stepdaughter he does love his stepdaughter.

However, from the sources, it is claimed that one of the reasons for Korth’s escape to Alaska in his early twenties is connected with his abusive father. They shared enmity against each other.

Before he went to Alaska and became a mountain man, he lived and worked as a welder in Wisconsin. He along with his family live along the Coleen River, just south of the Brooks Range and moved between cabins seasonally. In 2009, the online tv network, VBS.tv produced Surviving Alone in Alaska, a documentary film showing Korth’s hard lifestyle. The documentary film shows he and his family living in the Alaskan Bush. Moreover, he also appeared in the PBS’s Braving Alaska in 1992. And besides this, he got huge attention when he appeared in the popular show named The Last Alaskans on Discovery Channel. He appeared along with the other three families including Bob Harte and Ray Lewis.

Married to Edna Korth

Heimo Korth is married to Edna Korth, a reality TV personality for a long time. Sources claimed that the pair shared vows in the mid of 1970s. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Coleen Ann Korth on May 29, 1982. But sadly five days after her second birthday, their baby drowned in a river in 1984.

Reportedly, his wife Edna had a daughter named Millie from her early marriage. Together, the couple featured in many of the reality shows. After Coleen, the couple has had two other daughters named; Rhonda Korth and Krin Korth. Their youngest daughter, Krin, is a firefighter and is married to a Marine officer named Scott. Edna and Heimo are now grandparents to two kids – a girl and a boy. He is very close to both of his daughter Rhonda and Kirin however, he is more close to his first daughter Rhonda.
