A native of Motherwell, Katie Leung was born on August 8, 1987, in Scotland. She holds a Scottish nationality and belongs to a mixed ethnicity. Katie completed her secondary schooling from Hamilton College, South Lanarkshire.

Similarly, her father Peter Leung was a Hong Kong businessman who owns a company in Glasgow, and her mother Kar Wai Li worked as a banker.  Her parents divorced while Katie was three.

Professional Life

Soon after graduation, Katie Leung started her career as an actress. She made her stage debut in the play Wild Swans in 2012. Along with actors Daniel Radcliffe, Robbie Coltrane, Rupert Grint, Jason Isaacs, and Alan Rickman, Katie starred a role in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.  In the same way, Katie had a voiced in the video games Hatty Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Leung was cast in July 2007 by Gold Label Records, a Hong Kong-based EMI subsidiary, to be Leo Ku’s female lead in the music video Love Coming Home. In an episode of Cat Among the Pigeons of ITV1’s Agatha Christie’s Poirot she played Hsui Tai.  She was also featured in the Teen Vogue and Evening Standard. In 2017, Leung co-starred in The Foreigner with Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan playing Fan, the daughter of Chan’s character.
