Kayla Varner was born on 4th November 1992 in Henderson, Nevada. She is the daughter of Sean Varner and Lizz Varner. She grew up in Henderson along with her two siblings McKay Varner and Markus Varner. Before attending Brigham Young University, she graduated her high school education from Green Valley High School.

While in her school days, she was the captain of the soccer team, for a period of time. She played two seasons at Brigham Young before transferring to Ohio State University.
