After that day, the couple started dating and later Forrest surprised Lauren with a marriage proposal on the Channel 2 set. Lauren accepted the proposal, and then on March 22, 2008, the couple finally tied their knot and exchanged their wedding vows.

During their wedding, they intended to have a small intimate wedding among friends and families. However, they held their wedding at Lakewood Church due to the lengthy list of guests. The couple invited a total of 150 guests in their wedding ceremony.
