Already a star Ko named as the 100 most influential people by Time magazine in 2014. There’s a lot to know about Lydia’s life including her net worth and personal life so, if you’re one of her fans then read the whole article.

Korean Native

Lydia Ko was born as Bo-Gyung ”Lydia” Ko on April 24, 1997, in Seoul, South Korea. Born to Korean parents golf fanatics father Ko Gil-Hong and mother Hyeon Bong-sook who moved to New Zealand when she was four years old. Her interest in golf grew by the time she had reached age five after her golfer aunt introduced her to the sport.  At the age of eight, she started competing and won in the North Island women championship at under-19 division junior golf tournaments.

Selfless Ko

Despite having the chance to earn money Lydia decided to put a pause to her career and focused on her studies. Currently, at the age of 22, she wants to complete her studies before returning to professional golf.

Her college principal Sherida Penman is proud of her student and expressed her feeling towards Lydia in her own words:

“We’re so pleased for her – she’s just a great person and is such a wonderful role model for all sports. Her dedication and commitment – to practise and practise and practise – but she’s so modest and humble. You would never know what she’s done when she’s walking around school.”

Dating or Single?

Lydia is currently single and focused on her studies and career as a golfer. Although having the no 1 golfer rank there is no rumor of her dating anyone until 2020. Currently, 22 years old Ko is giving all her time towards studies after achieving no 1 position during the 2015 and 2016 season.

Unlike other sports stars who flaunt their life on social media, Ko’s Instagram is filled with a picture of her spending time with colleagues and family. That summons Lydia to be currently busy in improving her career since her rank has fallen below to 40th position as of 2020.
