Early Life

Mablean Ephriam was born as Mablean Deloris Ephriam on April 23, 1949, in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, the U.S. Ephriam is the daughter of Robert Ephriam and Mable Ephriam. She was raised in Los Angeles alongside her two siblings, brother Frank Ephriam and sister Mae Stewart.

The African-American Judge Mablean was the eldest daughter of her family. For her education she attended night class at Whittier Law School and in 1978, she earned her Juris Doctor degree.

Career

Mablean Deloris Ephriam started her career as a Corrections Officer for the Women’s Divison of the Federal Bureau of Prisons.  Furthermore, she opened her law practice dealing with family law cases and personal injury after her graduation. Soon after that, she became Prosecuting Attorney for Los Angeles.

In 1999, she was selected to be the show’s arbitrator for a show called Divorce Court where she started working on the role of the Judge and served until 2006. In 2005, she even appeared in the movies called Diary of Mad Black Woman. Also, she was featured in a Tv show  Called Celebrity Fit Club.

Personal Life

Mablean Ephriam is currently single and her sexual orientation is straight. Maclean’s husband turned out to be Cassius Paxton who was also her childhood friend. They got married when Mablean was just 13 years old.

They remained together in a relationship for more than two decades. After their marriage, the couple went through some internal issues which lead their married life into divorce. After a long argument, she finally made a decision and filed for a divorce in 1981.

Ephriam has a daughter, Tajamika Paxton from her marital relationship with Cassius. She was born in February 1972. Paxton is a famous producer, writer, and director. After her divorce, Ephriam kept herself away from the affairs and has never been in controversy.

Maclean is an active candidate in many human rights activities and social welfare programs. She even hosted an annual event on Father’s Day called The H.U.F awards in the memories of her father.
