Maureen Maher was born in 1972 in the state of Michigan, Detroit. She was raised in a strong Catholic household with her parents. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Loyola University in 1991. She began her career from the very beginning as a news anchor at WLUW (FM) in 1991. Her parents were high school seniors and her mother got pregnant. They were unable to provide for Maureen and subsequently gave her up for adoption.
