Mossberg worked as a reporter and editor at The Wall Street Journal from 1970 to 2013. He was the founder and author of the Personal Technology column in The Wall Street Journal. Similarly, he also served as an editor and columnist for The Verge. The journalist spent almost 18 years at the Journal’s Washington, D.C covering national and international affairs.

Moreover, Mossberg contributed to CNBC where he interviewed personalities on the shows like National Public Radio, Charlie Rose, and The News Hour.
