Besides, Dave was named Allstar player of the year after winning the NBL championship with Victoria-based basketball team Melbourne tigers. Furthermore, after his retirement, he also worked as a coach for two years with Hunter Pirates.

Dave Simmons married Australian citizen Julie Simmons who is an Australian Sociality and former cheerleader. They met during Dave’s early career as a basketball player at Melbourne tigers. At that time his wife worked as the cheerleader in the Basketball event. In addition, Julie had divorced from her first marriage due to which the path was open for both of them to get along.

Ultimately they started dating in 1989. The two dated for a couple of years before walking down the Aisle in 1994. They married in a private ceremony in the presence of his friend David Patrick and Julie children from her previous marriage. As of now, the couple is happily married and lives with six children, four from Julie ex-marriage and two with marriage with Dave.

Dave shares six children with Julie. However, he and Julie share two children from their past affairs. The couple was blessed with a daughter named Olivia Simmon in 1994. Furthermore, after two years of their first child, they gave birth to a son Ben Simmons on July 20, 1996. Ben is also a professional basketball player just like his dad.

He plays for Philadelphia 76ers in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He plays a point guard and forward and has been compared with NBA legends like Lilla Frederick‘s husband Steve Nash, Zhuri James dad Lebron James, and Shaq O’Neill.

Likewise, Dave is stepfather to the other four children  Melissa, Emily, Liam, and Sean.
