Later she worked in British soap opera Hollyoaks as Ruby. Her role was admired by the audience which helped her to gain other roles in several tv shows. However, she left the show in October 2013 since Anna wanted to try something new.

Nevertheless, Anna appeared in British Drama Glue in the role of ”Heather” before filming two episodes of fictional series Class which aired in 2016. As of now, Shaffer can be seen in the role of Triss Merigold in the recently released Netflix series The Witcher alongside Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan.
