After high school graduation, she received scholarship offers from a number of universities. However, going with her intuition, she decided to take a year off and explore her music career.

As a child, Alessia wrote poetry and did theatre. She started playing guitar at the age of 10 and taught herself how to play various songs. Similarly, by the age of 13, she began her own Youtube channel where she posted covers of songs that she performed.

After producing acoustic covers, she signed her contract with EP Entertainment and Def Jam Recordings in 2014 and released her debut single the following year.
