Aline Brosh Early Life

Aline Brosch was born to a Jewish family on August 2, 1967, in France. Later, she moved with her family to New Jersey where she first lived in Fort Lee, Demarest and then in Montvale. There, she attended Saddle River Day School. Years later she graduated from Harvard University.

After completing her graduation, Brosh moved to New York City where she did some freelance writing as she was in search of a job in publishing. During a six-week screenwriting course at NYU, Aline was able to write a script that landed her an agent. After that, Brosh moved to Los Angeles to continue her screenwriting process.

Aline was 26 years old when she moved to Los Angeles to launch her career. There, she sold a comedy feature and a television pilot and continued to write more. Similarly, Brosh also wrote an episode of Margaret Cho‘s sitcom All American Girl. Moreover, Aline’s first film was the 1999’s romantic comedy Three to Tango.

However, in 2004, Brosh wrote Laws of Attraction starring Pierce Brosnan and Julianne Moore. Her most known work is The Devil Wears Prada which was adapted from Lauren Weisberger‘s novel and starred Meryl Streep. She was nominated for the Academy Award.

Additionally, Aline wrote 27 Dresses which starred Katherine Heigl in 2008. Along with her writing work, she also produced several films. Brosh’s first two produced films were both romantic comedies. In 2010, she produced a movie starring Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford, and Diane Keaton titled Morning Glory.

Correspondingly, she also produced I Don’t Know How She Does It starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Pierce Brosnan. McKenna wrote We Bought a Zoo in the same year. In 2014, Aline wrote a musical comedy-drama Annie starring Quvenzhane Wallis.

On May 7, 2015, McKenna teamed up with Rachel Bloom to create the romantic musical comedy-drama Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. She is the series’ showrunner and an executive producer. In late 2017, Aline made her graphic novel Jane Eyre which was produced by Boom! Studios.
