Anatoly Onoprienko aka The Beast of Ukraine is a Ukrainian serial killer. He is also known as a family annihilator, mass murderer, serial arsonist, and robber.

The serial killer, Anatoly Onoprienko was born on July 25, 1959, in Zhytomyr Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union. He was born as the second son of his father, Yuri Onoprienko, a veteran of the Second World War, awarded for his bravery. Whereas, his mother died when he was four years old. Additionally, he belongs to Ukraine ethnic group and holds a Ukrainian nationality.

He studied forestry at University however, the name of the University isn’t revealed yet.

Anatoly Onoprienko’s Crime History

The serial killer started his rampaging killing spree while robbing houses. First of all, he killed 10 members of an unnamed family which consists of 8 children and 2 adults. Then after, he killed an 11-year-old boy and his parents and 2 unnamed children.

On 24 December 1995, he killed the Zaichenko family with a gun and burned their house. After one year, he killed another family on January 2, 1996, along with a pedestrian. On January 6, he stopped cars randomly in the street and shot 4 drivers.

Similarly, on January 17, he murdered The Pilat Family and burned their house along with them. Likewise, on January 30, he murdered an unnamed family which consists of two children, Marusina, and a visitor, Zacgranichniy.

Anatoly killed The Dubchak Family on February 19 and The Bodnarchuk Family on February 27. Afterward, on March 22, he murdered The Novosad Family and burned their house. Altogether, he killed 52 people throughout his lifetime.

The criminal, Anatoly was a married man even though he was a killer with a stone heart. He managed to marry a woman, Iryna Onoprienko. However, there is no information about their marriage. Later on, 1989 the pair divorced and the reason is still a mystery.

The couple shared one child named Dmytro Onopriienko.

Anatoly Onoprienko’s Arrest, Death and Reason Behind Becoming a Serial Killer

The heartless killer was captured on 16 April 1996 when police discovered his weapons. The police tortured Anatoly in the custody to confess his crime. Finally, he confessed his crime of killing 52 peoples. Unfortunately, the death penalty was abolished during that period, and he was imprisoned for life.

Many peoples were angered by the conclusion, however, he died in the prison due to heart failure at the age of 54.

When asked about the reason for becoming a serial killer, Anatoly confessed that when his mother died he felt anger over the injustice, as he had to go and live in the orphanage while his brother remained at home with their father.

Anatoly was filled with anger since his early days and later decided to take out his anger by killing innocent people. He started doing violent things which on the other hand gave him peace and calmness. He decided to become one of the best serial killers in the country.
