Andy Lau

Andy Lau Tak-wah is a Hong Kong actor, singer, and film producer. He signed up for acting lessons offered by Hong Kong’s Television Broadcasts Limited station and got a lead role on their 1982 series, The Emissary. He started the career as a TV actor. Lau was entered into the Guinness World Records for the “Most Awards Won by a Cantopop Male Artist”.

His credits include Ying hung ho hon (1987), Rich and Famous (1987), Yang ka Cheung (1986), The Legend of Master So (1982) God of Gamblers (1989), Crazy Stone (2006), and God of Gamblers II (1991). He is now 55 years old.

Back to his early life, Lau Fok Wing was born on 27 September 1961 in Tai Po, Hong Kong. He is the son of Lau Lai who is a fireman. There is no information about his mother. Similarly, he has brother Lau Takshing. Moreover, he graduated from a Band One secondary school, Ho Lap College in San Po Kong, Kowloon. He is skilled in the Chinese calligraphy.

He is the one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Cantopop who also had a heavenly film career in House of Flying Daggers and Infernal Affairs III. His collection of over 160 films from 1985 to 2005 made him the top Box Office Actor of Hong Kong. He gained nearly 300 awards for his music and more than a dozen film award honors.

On 24 June 2008, Lau married Malaysian Chinese Carol Chu. They had 24 years of strong connection. The couple was married in Las Vegas. On 9 May 2012, the couple became parents of his first child, a daughter named Hanna.
