Carly began her acting during her high school in Vancouver where she played in The Odd Couple and Midsummer Night’s. She attended high school at the Lord Byng Secondary School near the University of British Columbia campus.

On 29th December 2009, Carly and her brother Kris were driving a black BMW in West Georgia Street in Downtown Vancouver when a 31 years old man identified as David Fromrades jumped on top of the car and asked them to run him over.

When Kris got out of the car, David jumped in the front seat and drove the vehicle into the new CBC studios. At that time Pope suffered a broken rib and two cracked vertebrae where her brother Kris suffered forms several injuries to his ankle along with another victim who was a passerby
