There is nothing so important in recovery as support. It’s finding the people who love you, care about you, and want the very best for you no matter what. Each of us will meet so many people in life, many of them will be kind, lovely people but at the end of the day you want to surround yourself with the ones who will stick by you. And you know you can lean on them, and they on you in return because we all experience pain in this life and we all deserve to be loved. For me these are the people that I care about most ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I am one of the lucky ones to have a kind and loving biological family. However not every family is made up of people who have similar DNA. Families can include friends, teachers, counselors, therapists, coworkers, basically anyone who you love, trust, and they have your back. #findyourfamily #whoreallycounts #support #supportiseverything #nevergiveup #miracleshappen #happiness #joy #love #safety #movingforward

Today I spoke for the @ywca_houston whose new initiative is to provide emergency assessment for women freed from human trafficking exclusively. The scary thing about human trafficking is that it happens everywhere! The nice cities, expensive neighborhoods, and exclusive getaways. It is estimated that there are 40.3 million victims being sold and traded into sex slavery, labor slavery, and forced marriage. This number is an estimate, real numbers could very well be even higher! Human trafficking exists because demand is high, risks are low, and there is a huge profitability margin. If you suspect you or someone you know is being trafficked call the national human trafficking hotline 1-888-373-7888. Don’t let the fear of being a nosey neighbor keep you from acting. It was because everyday people kept there eyes open and weren’t afraid to call the police that lead to my rescue, it should be no different for the millions of victims in the human slave trade! #nevergiveup #alwayswatching #theydeservebetter #victims #victimtosurvivor #miracleshappen #change #changenow ps I know my photo skills are lacking but I thought this imagine I saw in the YWCA’s luncheon program said it all.
In this book, Smart has revealed how she survived and the secret to forging a new life in the wake of a brutal crime. Also, she explained how she was abducted in the middle of the night, raped and treated brutally until she rejoined her family after 8-month.
Furthermore, Smart was taken by religion fanatic Brian David Mitchell and her wife on 5th June 2002, and those 8 months were the worst days of her life as she was repeatedly raped and threatened to be killed if she tried to escape.

Thank you @alisyncamerota for giving me the opportunity to chat with you! It’s so important that we all take time to take care of ourselves! Even if things seem fine at the moment we need to make sure we are taking care of ourselves so we can be strong for others, so we can be that shoulder for someone else to lean on. #loveyourself #loveyourselfforothers #happyinternationalwomensday
