Byrd High School and graduated from the Louisiana Tech University and the same college she got the degree in political science. As a teenager, she has begun in several beauty pageants and has also held many high profile titles. The first African-American win the Miss Louisiana Tech was enrolled in the Miss America competition. She has obtained her Juris Doctor from the Southern University Law Center.
