Early Life and Education

Throwing some lights on his early life, the scientist was born on November 14, 1891, in Alliston, Ontario, Canada under the birth sign Scorpio. As per his nationality, he is Canadian and belongs to white ethnicity. Similarly, he is the youngest of five children of his parents. Career

Sir Frederick Grant Banting was a Canadian scientist and doctor, whose research pointed to the discovery of insulin to treat diabetic patients. Right after his graduation, he began working in France during World War I. When the war closed in 1919, he reverted to Canada, serving part-time as a medical practitioner in Ontario and next working as the Resident Surgeon at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.

He shortly emerged a deep curiosity in diabetes, leading his studies to analysis methods for extracting insulin from the pancreas. Commonly with medical student Charles Best, he found a way to isolate insulin and effectively treat diabetic patients. He was 49 years old when he died. His religious views are inaccessible. He was the son of William Thompson Banting and Margaret Grant.

Personal Life

Entering into his married life, he was married twice in life. Well, he previously married Marion Robertson in 1924. The duo had one child, William (born in 1928). However, they chose to separate in 1932. Perhaps the reason behind their divorce is still under review. Also, Banting exchanged his wedding vows with Henrietta Ball in 1937.

The marriage ended only after his death. He died on February 21, 1941, near Musgrave Harbour, Dominion of Newfoundland. His sexual orientation was straight.
