Storen raised her in an Irish-Catholic family. Moreover, Storm completed her schooling in 1979 from The Westminster Schools and in 1983, she graduated from the University of Notre Dame.
Initially, Storm started her career as a disc jockey at a radio station in Texas in the early 1980s. When she was in the university, she used to work at WNDU-TV. Soon after her graduation, Storm again worked as a disc jockey at KNCN.
