Ina Balin was born as Ina Rosenberg on 12th November 1937 in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, the United States. Her father, Sam Rosenberg was a dancer, singer, and comedian. Whereas, her mother was also a dancer who first married at the age of 15. Ina’s father was the third husband of her mother.

Ina grew up along with her brother, Richard Balin. When both of them were growing, their parents divorced. Their mother was going to marry for the fourth time. Later, Harold Balin adopted both of the siblings. Balin had graduated from high school at the age of 15. Also, she spent five years at a boarding school in Pennsylvania.

Taking a dream of getting established in the film industry, Ina Balin made her first appearance on TV through The Perry Como Show. After that, she made a guest appearance in the American TV series, Wonder Woman. Following, she guest-starred in several TV series such as Adventures in Paradise, The Lieutenant, Battlestar Galactica, It Takes a Thief, and so on.

Later, she wrote the story of an American animated TV series, Jem where she put a character of Ba Nee who is based on Balin’s adopted daughter, Ba-Nhi.
