Joey Buttafuoco is a married man. He has married twice in his lifetime. He tied the knot with his first wife, Mary Jo Buttafuoco in 1977. The duo has two children Jessica and Paul together. During his marriage with wife Mary, he had an extramarital affair with 16-year-old Amy Fisher. 

Consequently, after a year of their affair, Amy shot Mary in the face with a semiautomatic pistol on 19th May 1992. During the time, Mary was staying at her home in New York, and suddenly the doorbell rang. After she got encountered with Amy, she instantly shot Mary on her head. With the grace of God, Mary survived after going through some medical treatments. After that, Amy was jailed for seven years.

Whereas, Joey served for four months and nine days in prison after pleading guilty for statutory rape, sodomy, and endangering the welfare of a child. He divorced with his estranged wife took place in 2003.

Not only this but when Amy had shot Mary on her head, Mary’s nine-year-old daughter, Jessica Buttafuoco was also there. She reported during an interview saying:

“I didn’t find out that she was shot until a few days after, “Um, now, as an adult looking back, what do you tell a nine-year-old child, you know, when they didn’t even know what was going on at the time? So they had told me that she had fallen on a nail while painting in the backyard.”

Though Jessie could not find any clues at that time, at present, she knows it all. Still, she has a strong relationship with her family. Her mother, Mary is now remarried and changed her name to Mary Jo Connery.

At the present time, Buttafuoco is married to Evanka Franjko. The duo took vows in 2005. They married privately in the presence of close friends and family. Afterward, Evanka filed him for divorce in 2007 while withdrew the petition soon after filing it.
