John Noble, an Australian actor who was born back in 1948 has directed more than 80 plays in his life. He is best known for his role as Denethor in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy. His another high profile role was in the television series, Fringe and Sleepy Hollow. He joined the main cast of the television back in 2015 in the series Elementary as Sherlock Holmes’s father.
Apart from being a television as well as a movie actor, he is also a famous voice actor who has provided his voice for the DC Comics supervillain Scarecrow back in 2015 and also in a video game Batman: Arkham Knight. In 2012, John was diagnosed with a disease called osteoporosis. His often holds charity programs etc. to raise awareness for the disease.

John Noble has worked as an actor and director for more than 25 years. This explains that he started his career at a very young age. At the beginning of his career, he worked as artistic director of the Stage Company of South Australia for about 10 years. At the same time, he was also the Head of Drama at Brent School of Arts.

Some of his other film credits are ‘The monkey’s mask’, ‘Airtight’, ‘The Product’, ‘A sting in the tail’, ‘The Nostradamus kid’, ‘Call me Mr. Brown’, etc.
Apart from the movies, he’s worked in several TV series as well. He performed a semi-regular role in a famous Australian series, ‘All Saints’. He has played as guest leads in many other series like, ‘Big Sky’, ‘Police Rescue’, ‘Water Rats’, ‘Time Trax’, ‘Tales of South Pacific’, etc. Until today, he has been best known for the role of Denethor in the movie, ‘Lord of the Rings’.
