Julia Baird is a well known  Australian political journalist, writer, and television commentator and writer from Sydney Morning Herald, the International New York Times hosts and The Drum on ABCTV. Currently, she works as a biography writer for Queen Victoria.

Early Life

Baird was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, she is the daughter of politician Bruce Baird and his wife Judith (nee Woodlands). She has an older brother, Michael Baird is an Australian investment banker and former politician. She also has a younger brother, Steve. Her family lived in Rye, New York from the 1970s while her father was Australian Trade Commissioner. Then after they came to Australia in 1980, Baird joined Ravenswood School for Girls.
In 2001, Baird was awarded a Ph.D. in the history from the University of Sydney  Her thesis was about women in politics. In 2005, she was a member at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University investigating the globalization of American opinion in the lead up to the Iraq war.

Career

Looking her career, she started her journalism in The Sydney Morning Herald in 1998, where she served as a columnist, education reporter, editor, and election editor. She managed in Triple J as a religious commentator and ABC Radio as a freelancer. Julia Baird is an author her first book, Media Tarts: about How the Australian Press Frames Female Politicians, published in 2004. and writers for the Philadelphia Inquirer. Julia Baird confirmed that her deal with Random House to write a biography of Queen Victoria in 2010. She also reported the US presidential campaign in Iowa for The Monthly, the Sun-Herald and the ABC in 2012.

Accidentally, Julia Baird had ovarian cancer since 2015. Julia says that  “My clothes had grown snug, but my friends laughed and gently pointed to the vats of chocolate I consume when facing deadlines.”On January 17, 2017, her brother Mike announced that Julia’s cancer has been cured.
