Kelly Barnhill began her career through a freshman season in softball for the Florida Gators in 2016. Following she finished the season pointing 15-1. In 2017, she named as an All-SEC First Team player. Not to mention, she also listed herself as the SEC Pitcher of the Year. In July 2017, she was honored with the ESPY Award for Best Female College Athlete.

Recently, on 16th April 2019, Barnhill was selected for the National Pro Fastpitch league by the Chicago Bandits to play 2019 NPF Draft. Till now, she has gained two gold medals; one in 2015 and another in 2018.
