I turned 30 today. It's the first birthday where I feel a new chapter has truly begun. Where I actually felt different when I woke up. It's a good different. I feel more grounded than I did yesterday. A little more at peace. More thankful. A little softer. Travel and spontaneity were my first true experiential loves and I hope I am able to continue to integrate those themes into my life as often as possible. But today I feel excited for different adventures…for more quiet moments, opening more books, deepening my relationships with my family and friends, for more solitude & striving to understand myself better and for the idea of little babies running around our house. The idea of a little more routine. It's different. I like it. . To my husband, family and friends…you are the most important part of my life. The lessons I have learned from you & the memories we have shared are invaluable. Thank you for loving me, for always being there with a shoulder or a laugh and for helping shape me. I have truly never felt more loved than I did this week. Many happy tears. . Last night, right before it turned midnight, Aaron, my friends and I took a shot of tequila, danced to Rihanna and shot down a water slide into the pool. Smiling and screaming and laughing and twirling. It was perfect. A little later, I quietly walked away from the celebration and laid outside with my friend Lacey, whose been by my side for 20 years and spent the rest of the night quiet under the stars. We talked about life for a bit but we were mostly silent, just looking up and out. I didn't realize what that transition from water slides to quiet star gazing meant to me until right now…what I now know it represented about this step from my 20's into my 30's. That's not to say I'm done with the party. I will be up for adventure until the day I die. But today I'm equally all-in for other things. I'm sensing that I will soon experience new shades and colors to life that I have never known before and I'm thrilled. It feels good. . I'm feeling the deepest love right now. The most open I have ever felt to receiving and giving it and I'm just so excited about what's to come.🌠 📷: my sister @samanthamarq
