Among those famous personalities, today’s topic is about a personality who gained fame as a former Women Tennis player like Naomi Osaka and Victoria Azarenka. She also became the name of every household for marrying the greatest Tennis Player of all time, and she is non-Other than the Mirka Federer.

Mirka is the wife of the Legendary Tennis player Roger Federer. Along with a loving wife, she is also a caring mother of four.

Mirka And Roger Federer Love Life

Mirka married the greatest tennis player of all time, Roger Federer, in April 2009. Their wedding was held in Basel, Switzerland, in a private ceremony attended by families and friends.

Well, Mirka met Rogers in Biel for the first time in 2000, where both of them were competing. She didn’t know about  Roger much before the 2000 Olympic games.

Mirka was out of the event losing in the first round to Elena Dementieva. Similarly, her spouse lost to Tommy Haas in the semifinal, which he considered being the toughest defeat for him to take that year. Although they could not win the gold, they found their love during the event.

According to reports, it was Roger who did the chasing and showed eager to talk with Mirka. However, she got confused about why he wanted to talk with her since she was a four-year elder to Rodger.

Despite the age-gap, Roger did not give up and kept trying. However, during the 2000 Olympic games, they kissed each other and expressed their love for the first time. Unlike Roger, she didn’t think the kiss to be serious. She thought it happened because of the momentum and moved on.

In an interview, Roger opened up about the day,

”I tried to tell her I was almost 18 and a half because she told me I was so young when she kissed me … I was like, ‘Well, I’m almost 18 and a half,’ so I tried to sneak in a quarter year. A quarter year. Back in the day that was a big deal.”

Eventually, they started dating but somehow hid it from the media.  Then in 2002, they were competing for the Hopman Cup as a mixed double couple. During the match, one can clearly see their great chemistry.

Nevertheless, things became serious after Roger introduced Mirka to  Mitzi Ingram Evans, an ITF player-media liaison officer. Federer introduced her with a big smile on his face mentioning as a special person. Further, in 2003, they started their live-in relationship and started living in Switzerland.

Parents of Double Twins

A month before their marriage, the couple announced that Mirka was pregnant with their first kid. Federer then gave birth to Twins Daughter Charlene Riva Federer and Myla Rose Federer on July 23, 2009. They were born after three months of their marriage.

In an interview, Mirka revealed that she wanted to have kids soon to let their children see Roger playing Tennis. In addition, the Federer couple welcomed another twin children this time Boys, Leo Federer, and Lenny Federer on May 6, 2014. Reports suggest that Roger could not hold tears after hearing the news about his twin’s son.

The former player always supports her husband in every game, even after having kids. Whenever Roger has important games, she, along with her children, cheers for him. Besides his busy career, Roger spends time with his children whenever he is free. In an interview, Roger said he was overwhelmed with the family he has and wants to become an example to his children.

Mirka Federer Background

Mirka Federer born as Miroslava Vavirncova in Bonjice, Czechoslovakia, on 1st April 1987. Her parents were Jeweler traders in Germany but later moved to Switzerland when she was two years of age.

At the age of nine, her father took her to watch a tennis match with Filderstadt in Germany, where she met Martina Navratilova. It was Martina who motivated her to join tennis after looking at her athletic appearance. Martina also sent her a racquet and arranged for her first tennis lesson.

Federer later started her career in Switzerland and won a swiss junior title. In addition, she went on to win  1997 Tel Aviv and later participated in the 2000 Olympic games, where she met her now-husband. Her achievement came after she reached the third round of the US Open in 2001.

Unfortunately, due to recurring foot injury, Mirka took retirement from the tennis in 2002. Following her retirement, she started serving as her husband’s manager.
