Oscar Issac was born as Óscar Isaac Hernández on March 9, 1979, in Guatemala City, Guatemala to a Guatemalan mother and a Cuban father. His mother María Eugenia Estrada and father Óscar Gonzalo Hernández-Cano who was a pulmonologist. He grew up alongside his sister Nicole Hernandez Hammer who is a climate scientist by profession. Issac’s parents moved to the US when was five months.  He grew up in Miami, Florida in the Christian faith.

In his high school days at Westminster Christian, he was a naughty kid and set up a fire extinguisher in the gym. Alongside he loved to make his friends laugh and were a popular name among the students. Ultimately for his naughtiness, he got expelled from the school.

Later he attended Julliard School before graduating from Miami Dade College. Issac started his career in his youth as a theatre actor and loved to play guitar and sing with a band named The Blinking Underdog. Ultimately he left his music passion after joining Juilliard school where he worked he started his career with his first film All about benjamin. Also, he was a part of the Drama group name 34 in 2001.

Marriage and Children

Oscar is married to his longtime girlfriend Elvira Lind. She is a director and producer known for musical documentaries Bobbie Jene and Twiz & Tuck. The couple met during an event when Elvira was covering one of the concerts where Oscar was performing.

Therefore his music became a catalyst for their link-up. Soon after their first meet they started hanging out together and started liking each other. It was Issac who proposed her in 2007. They started dating for a long time before tieing the knot in 2017 in an intimate ceremony. As of now the happily married couple live together without any dispute or extra affair and share two kids together.

Furthermore, the couple is blessed with two beautiful children from three years of marriage. They welcomed their first child a son Eugene Isaac on April 2017. Later, after two years of their first child, they welcomed their second child again a son in October 2019. As of now, he lives with his family in Williamsburg, Brooklyn house.
