During that time, the organization lacked membership, staff, and budget. After a year, the group grew to 95,000 members with a dozen staff members and $9 million budget.

While he was working as the lead for Vets For Freedom, he was also involved in Fox News Channel. He worked as the military analyst on Fox News Channel and has also made several television appearances on the CNN and MSNBC.
