Peter McMahon was born as Peter K. McMahon on June 6, 1954, in Blackpool, Lancashire, in England. However, he has not revealed the details of his parents and siblings. After finishing his high school education, Peter went to the University of Liverpool and graduated from there in 1976 with a bachelor’s degree in business Administration and Management.
Upon graduation, Peter began his career as a distribution and supply chain director for supermarket company Sainsbury which is one of the second largest chains of supermarkets in the UK. He worked there from 1992 to 2000, serving in places like Northern England, Ireland, and Scotland.

The couple met each other in August 1997 on a flight heading towards Chicago. After spending some quality time together the couple felt some connection. Though Peter and Dana felt the same, Dana was afraid to purpose as he was 18 years older than her. But later it became easy for Peter as Dana shared her details and also knew that she also feels the same as he feels.
After dating for a few months, the two tied the knot in 1998 in a private ceremony in England. Later the couple went for the honeymoon to the Greek Island of Santorini.
