Born on March 16, 1967, in France, Pierre-Louis Padang Coffin changed his birth name after people started knowing him as Pierre Coffin. He grew with his supportive parents, Yves Coffin and Nh. Dini. 

Then, he completed his school from Gobelins animations School. After completing his school he was trained at the Gobelins Animations School in Paris and started to work at Amblimation, the 2D London-based facility. In the animation school, he worked on the Steven Spielberg-Executive-Produced We’re Back! A Dinosaur’s Story.

After that, he began as a freelance animator in the French CGI Studio for Ex Machina as an animator and eventually animation supervisor. Also, he has a huge interest in drawing and literature.

He began his professional career in 1997 with a short movie named Pings. Then he started a partnership with Passion Pictures Paris and created commercials together with Mac Guff.

In 2010, Pierre Coffin directed Despicable Me and even gave voice to minions in his other workers.

Again he came up with part two of the same movie called Despicable Me 2 which was even more successful than the prequel. Side by side he made an anime movie called Minions in 2015.

Then, recently, 2 years ago, he came up with part 3 of the movie called Despicable Me 3 in 2017. People are waiting for part 4 of this movie and want to see all his cute minions once again.
