Ray Lucas was born on August 6, 1972, in Harrison, New Jersey with the sun sign, Leo. His father Tom used to serve in Vietnam. Even though he was born from another guy who was Ray’s mother’s ex-husband, Tom raised him like his own son.

Later, Lucas graduated from Harrison High School. At Rutgers University. Also, he used to take participation during his college football matches.

Early Life & Career

Lucas started his career since 1996 from the professional American football team which is based in the Greater Bostom area, New England Patriots. In the time of 1999 NFL season, he took over afterward and lost his first two starts but won his next four games to give the Jets an 8–8 record for the season. At the time he was the favorite player of the former coach, Bill Parcells. Bill put Ray in at quarterback with second string OB Neil O’Donnell in 1997. Then, Ray set up in a shotgun formation and ran the ball himself for 15 yards. Moreover, Lucas attempted his first NFL pass in Week 17 against the Detroit Lions. He went 3 of 3 for 28 yards before throwing an interception.

Professional Career

After Ray’s starting success he spent two seasons (2001 and 2002) with Miami Dolphins. In the first season, he was quite hidden but in the second season, he got a chance to start six games. Again he played quarterback due to his big body. At first, they began with 5-1 but then starting quarterback Jay Fielder broke his thumb against Denver.  At the time, he amassed 4 touchdowns, 6 interceptions, and 69.9 QB rating. After Lucas and his team played against Buffat Lalo Bills in 2002, October 20, Lucas was responsible for 6 turnovers: 4 interceptions and 2 fumbles. He made only 13 passes to Dolphin receivers.

Then, Lucas was named to the Hudson County Sports Hall of Fame in 2008, March 28. He also co-wrote the book, Under Pressure: How Playing Football Almost Cost Me Everything and Why’d I’d Do It All Again. After his long hard work, Ray was named Executive Director of the Harrison New Jersey Housing Authority.
