Russell  Crowe is an actor, film producer, and musician who is native of New Zealand. Crowe is the Oscar-winning actor who earned four film awards for Best Actor after portraying Maximus in Gladiator, and who portrayed Javert in the 2012 film, Les Miserables. He was in American Gangster, Cinderella Man, and Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003).

He did his first acting appearance on an Australian television program at the age of 5. His first victorious American film was Virtuosity. Crowe’s other films include Romper Stomper (1992), State of Play (2009), Robin Hood (2010), L.A. Confidential (1997), Les Misérables (2012), Man of Steel (2013) and Noah (2014). He earned one Golden Globe Award for Best Actor, three consecutive Academy Award nominations (1999–2001) one BAFTA, and an Academy Award. Crowe is the holder of New Zealander nationality.
