Mohr is a graduate of the University of Georgia, having earned her Bachelor of Science degree in speech pathology with a minor in audiology. Furthermore, Mohr enrolled at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. In 1989, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast meteorology.

At the age of twenty-four, Mohr stepped in glamour world at the suggestion of a fellow UGA student. She competed for Miss Columbus 1985 title and kissed the crown, beating all of her competitors.  This victory made her eligible to enter the Miss Georgia pageant in June 1985. Moreover, she won the competition on Saturday, 22^nd June 1985.

Following the victory, Mohr went on as Georgia’s representative at the Miss America 1986 pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in September 1985. However, she was not a Top-10 finalist for the national crown.

Broadcast Career

Samantha Mohr started her metrology career initially interning at FOX TV station KRIV. In 1989, she went on to KTVK/Phoenix. There she served as a morning meteorologist for Good Morning Arizona. After almost 12 years in the desert, San Francisco’s CBS O&O KPIX hired her as Chief Meteorologist, where she worked until 2007.

Furthermore, Mohr moved back to Georgia to The Weather Channel in 2007 on Weekend View, which she co-hosted with Bill Keneely and Dao Vu.  During her two years at CNN, she also provided weather coverage for Weekend Express on HLN. Presently, Mohr is a meteorologist at WXIA-TV/11 Alive in Atlanta, since June 2015.
