Stephen Antonio Cardenas was born on 29th May 1974 in Hampton, Virginia. He spent early days as a military brat and grew up in San Antonio, Texas. At the early age of twelve, Steve began training martial arts.
After four years of consistent training, Cardenas received a black belt. Moreover, he has been in martial arts for twenty-eight years. Steve also achieved the 5th-degree belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Taekwondo.

When Steve Cardenas was twenty, Stephen shifted to Los Angeles, in order to audition for a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. After portraying for many years as a power ranger, Steve left the series and took retirement due to some disagreements in contracts.
Additionally, Cardenas focused on his martial arts and soon opened his own martial arts studio in Burbank, California, and one in Hampton, Virginia. Moreover, Cardenas also opened the Force/Balance Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Yoga School.
Steve’s interest in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu developed after he lost a friendly match against ”a blue belt in BJJ. Cardenas has received numerous awards from martial arts competition.
In 2017, he appeared in the short movie The Order along with other co-stars, Catherine Sutherland, Austin St. John, Johnny Yong Bosch, David Yost, Walter Emanuel, Paul Schrier, Erin Cahill, and others.
