Tom Selleck

Thomas William professionally known as “Tom” Selleck is popular as an American actor and film producer. He appeared in more than 50 films and television roles from Magnum, P.I., such as Three Men and a Baby(the highest-grossing film of 1987), Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball, and Lassiter.

Selleck also seemed as Dr. Richard Burke on Friends and as A.J. Cooper on the TV program Las Vegas. He has the best role as private investigator Thomas Magnum in the television series Magnum, P.I. (1980–1988) for which he won a Golden Globe and an Emmy.

Early Life and Education

Aged, 74 Selleck was born on Jan 29, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, the US, son of Martha Selleck (née Jagger), a housewife, and Robert Dean Selleck, was an executive and real estate, investor. His family moved to Sherman Oaks, California, during his childhood period He has two brothers named Robert, Daniel and a younger sister named Martha.

Tom holds American citizenship and is of white ethnicity. He graduated from Grant High School in 1962. Working as a model, he appeared at the University of Southern California on a basketball scholarship where he played for the USC Trojans men’s basketball team. He got a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and Trojan Knights.

After majoring in business administration, a drama coach suggested, he studied acting at the Beverly Hills Playhouse under Milton Katselas. From 1967 to 1973, Selleck worked in the 160th Infantry Regiment of the California Army National Guard.

Career

Talking of his career, in spite of his good-looking, impressive physique, acting skills, the talented actor ‘Selleck’ has few roles in various movies, including Myra Breckinridge, Coma, and The Seven Minutes. He also played a number of TV series, mini-series and TV movies. He had a recurring role in the 1970s named “too good to be true” private investigator Lance White in The Rockford Files.

He has the best role in the television series, Magnum, P.I.then played Thomas Magnum, a private investigator, in the television series, broadcast from 1980 to 1988 got a great hit, and one of the highest-ranked shows on U.S. television.

The comedy film, Three Men, and a Baby were one of the biggest hits of the year played with Steve Guttenberg and Ted Danson. He led role as a successful advertising agency executive in the television sitcom, The Closer and 10 episodes of the show that aired on CBS in 1998. From 2007 to 2008, he appeared as A.J. Cooper in the television series Las Vegas and in 2010, police drama series Blue Bloods as Frank Reagan.

Twice Married

The True Bloods star was once married to model and actress, Jacqueline Ray, on 5th of May 1971 at an intimate ceremony. And the divorced couple became one of the most famous couples in Hollywood after they got married but their marriage did not last forever.

In 1982, they ended their marriage over a decade of unity without revealing the cause. After the divorce, Tom appeared as a lead role in the movie Divorce Wars: A Love Story. The film made it possible for Tom to pour his heart into his character on the screen.

Before Selleck, Jacqueline was in a marital relationship with Shepard, whom she shares one son, named Kevin Selleck( born in 1966). Then after, Tom adopted Kevin, after the marriage, and gave him his surname. Even after their divorce, he brought him up as a beloved son. Father and son have even appeared in several films as co-stars.

In 1987, Selleck shared the wedding vows with Jillie Mack, his current wife. The couple has one daughter together named Hannah Margaret Selleck, born on 16th December 1988.
