Early Life

Yen was born on 27 July 1963 in Guangzhou, Guangdong of China and now he is 52 years old He is the son of newspaper editor Klyster Yen and martial arts master Bow Sim Mark. At the age of 4 Yen began practicing martial arts from his mother, who taught him wushu. And tai chi until the age of 11 when his family migrated to Boston, MA. Similarly, he continued mastering wushi and tai chi.

After getting a huge interest in martial arts he finally began getting into several different martial art styles, including taekwondo, kickboxing, boxing, karate. After passing sixteen his parents sent him to Beijing Wushu Academy to train Chinese martial arts under Master Wu Bin, for three years.

Career

Revealing some facts about his professional career at the age of 20 he was acting after being a part of the film Drunken Tai Chi in the year 1984. Tiger Cage is also another film during the year 1988, where he got great success upon his performances and he joined his hand working with Bullet Films in the year 1997.

In Hollywood films, he was introduced to be listed as a top working choreographer. Moreover, his fights scenes were preferred by most of his fans from all over the world.
