Elaine Devry First Marriage

The 92-year-old actress first got into a marital relationship when she was just the legal age of 18. Elaine Devry married her high school sweetheart Dan Ducich after dating her for a couple of years. Dan was a college hunk. After all, he played basketball for his college team.

Devry and Dan were head over heels in love until their relationship turned from sweet to sour. The duo divorced in 1952 after their relationship hit a rocky patch due to Dan’s behavior. Dan Ducich spent five years on probation right after his marriage to his girlfriend, Elaine.

Dutch was charged and convicted of multiple robberies in the 50s. Not just that, Dan owed money to mobsters, which he lost due to his gambling habit. The couple got separated, which was a tragic moment for Elaine, but the sorrow deepened after Dan committed suicide.

Dan probably couldn’t pay the debts and decided to take his life. He committed suicide in 1954 in a hotel room in Las Vegas. After the divorce in 1952, Elaine Devry moved to Los Angeles and pursued her acting career.

Elaine’s Relationship with Mickey Rooney

After moving to Los Angeles, Elaine met Mickey Rooney. Mickey is a famous actor in his prime in the 60s and the 70s. Devry’s first meeting with the actor was at Woodland Hills Driving Range.

Mickey Rooney is credited for films like Driving Me Crazy, The Woods, Night Club, and many more. Not Just that Mickey is also famous for his relationships. In his lifetime, he was in a marital relationship with eight women equaling the record of Elizabeth Taylor.

Devry married Mickey Rooney in 1952 after Mickey proposed to her in November. She is the fourth wife of the actor as the couple married in Las Vegas. As with Rooney’s other marriage, the wedding with Elaine also reached the same fate.

Mickey started seeing other women and even made one of his mistress pregnant. The couple had it all in just six years and decided to split in 1958. After the divorce, Devry talked about her marriage with Mickey in an interview. She said,

“Living with Mickey is no bed of roses. Six wives can’t all be wrong.”

From her marriage with Mickey, Elaine gave birth to one son named William Rooney. The many love affair of Mickey Rooney never failed to grab the headlines. Mickey always said that he loved them all. The list of his beautiful wives goes from Ava Gardner, Martha Vickers, to Barbara Lawrence. He died at the age of 93 in 2014.

After her second failed marriage, Elaine completely focused on her career and acted in many movies. Devry never dated anyone after Mickey Rooney, but there was some report that Elaine married some guy in 2005.
