Jeffrey Lurie

There are very few personalities who become successful by engaging in various fields. Jeffrey Lurie, producer, businessman, and owner of Philadelphia is one of them. He is the perfect example of an illustrious personality who achieves sucess from whatever field that he is engaged in.

Jeffrey Lurie is the founder of Chestnut Hill Productions which produced successful TV shows, documentary, and movies. He is credited for movies like Sweet Hearts dance, Blindside, State of emergency, Malibu shores, Inside Job to name a few. Jeffrey produced Academy award-winning documentary Inside Job and his team Philadephia Eagles won Super Bowl in 2017.

Life before fame

Jeffrey Robert Lurie was born on September 8, 1951, in Boston Massachusetts. Lurie was born to father Late Morris John Lurie and mother Nancy Smith Lurie. The eldest son of Lurie’s family grew up alongside two siblings Peter Lurie and Cathy Lurie.

Lurie’s grandfather Philip Smith is the founder of the largest drive-in movie theatres, General movie theatre based in the US. Sadly he didn’t get to know his father since he passed when he was nine years old.  Nevertheless, his uncle Richard A smith played the role of the father in his life. Richard’s CEO of a general cinema corporation founded by his father Morris.

He attended high school in Boston and later graduated from Clark University with a Bachelor in arts degree. Additionally, the 68-year-old completed a master’s in psychology from Boston University. In addition, he got a doctorate in social policy from Brandeis University.

First Marriage and divorce

Jeffrey was married to Christiana Weiss in Gstaad, Switzerland, in 1992. Her real name is Lori Lewis, however, she changed it after marrying Jeffrey because she thought Lori Lurie would sound weird. The couple met during the shoot of the 1990 comedy movie I love you to death featuring Keanu Reeves, and Rain Phoenix.  After dating for a couple of years they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony.

However, despite being married for over 20 years they parted their ways in July 2012. The couple had an ongoing dispute on their marriage due to which they decided to divorce with mutual consent. His wife Christiana filed for the divorce and call it to be  “amicable”. Currently, they are still in touch and remained close friends sharing partnerships in the NFL team Philadephia eagles.

Subsequently, after their divorce, Jeffrey’s friend and family lawyer Dave Kaplan opened the reason behind the separation. He told them they were different from each other in thinking style and added they should have known each other for more time rather than to get married shortly after dating.

Married again

Jeffrey Lurie remarried after a year of divorce to Vietnamese Tina Lai in 2013. She comes from a family of Vietnam refugees who owned two restaurants and a small grocery store in West Philadelphia. In fact, Jeffrey Lurie met Tina while she was working at one of those restaurants. Ultimately the couple married in a private ceremony in Charleston, South Carolina, on May 4, 2013.

During the marriage, Jeffrey seems very happy wearing a black suit with a silver striped tie. Meanwhile, Tina looks stunning in a white gown holding lily flowers on her hands. As of now the couple is very excited and looking forward to the future. Currently, they do not share any children and lives in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania mansion.

Two children

The 68-year-old Jeffrey is blessed with two children from his 20 years marriage to Christina Weiss. They welcomed their child a daughter Milena Lurie in 1994. She is a filmmaker and lives in New York. She often was seen in the game of Philadephia eagles.

In addition, Jeffrey also has a son Julian Lurie born in 1995. He is a graduate of Harvard in 2017. Just like her sister, Jullian is close to his dad and often seen during the Eagles game. Both of Jefreey’s children do not practice any religion like their dad.

Net worth-$2.7 billion

Jeffrey Lurie is a billionaire when it comes to his Net worth. His total net worth is $2.7 billion. Moreover, he bought NFL team Philadelphia Eagles for $185 million which is at present worth $1.3 billion. He is the 90 % shares at the Eagles. He started the Eagles Autism Challenge, which has raised $6 million over the last two years. The Boston born businessman owns a Cinema movie theater chain, worth $3.7 billion company which he shares with his family. Furthermore, he bought a worth $14 million Wynnewood, Pennsylvania where he lives with his wife Tina.

In addition, Jeffrey has also donated a huge amount of money. Some of his notable contributions are $15,000  to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee between 2006-07, $25000 to the Philadelphia Host Committee. In the same way, $10,000 to the DNC in 1998. Lurie also donated to Republicans, which include $20,000 to the Bush-Cheney campaign in 2003, $10,000 to Rudy Guliani in 2000 and $10,000 to Rick Santorum in 1998.
