Katherine MacGregor

Late American actress Katherine MacGregor was famous for her role as nasty, gossiping, greedy and arrogant Harriet Oleson in the television series Little House on the Prairie. In the series, she appeared in 153 episodes from 1974–1983.

MacGregor was first married to Bert Remsen but later divorced. Furthermore, she also married Edward G. Kaye-Martin but sadly her second marriage also ended with a divorce.

Katherine MacGregor was born on 12th January 1925, in Glendale, California, United States. Her birth name was Dorlee Deane McGregor. Her parents were Ralph S. McGregor and Beatrice E. Willard.  She belonged to American nationality and her ethnicity was white.

Along with her family, MacGregor moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, where she spent her entire childhood. In 1947, MacGregor graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University. Shortly after her graduation, she moved to New York City in order to pursue her acting career.

The late actress Katherine MacGregor was married twice. Firstly, she exchanged the vows with late actor Bert Remsen in 1949. Unfortunately, their marriage did not last long and they separated just after a year of their wedding in 1950. 

They did not have children from their relationship. After the first unsuccessful marriage, MacGregor got linked with Edward G. Kaye-Martine. They had 14 years od age gap. Edward is an actor, director as well as a teacher. The couple walked down the aisle on 3rd August 1969.

However, just like her first marriage, MacGregor’s second wedlock also did not last long. MacGregor and Edward divorced in 1970. Yet, the reason behind their separation is unknown. Since then, MacGregor remained single and there are no rumors of her affairs as well.

Career

During the initial phase of her career, Katherine MacGregor worked as a dance teacher at the Arthur Murray Dance Studios in New York City. She began performing in broadways and theatre in the 1950s. MacGregor performed in plays such as The Seven Year Itch and Handful of Fire.

Cause Of Death

The 5 feet and 4 inches or 1.63m tall late actress Katherine MacGregor died on 14th November 2018. She passed away at the age of 93 just two months before her 94th birthday at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills, California. However, the actual reason for her death is still not revealed.
