In 2013, Lotta made her acting career debut in the short film Cam Closer. That same year, she and her husband, created the short film Lights Out, where she portrayed a woman who is haunted by a creature that moves in the dark but does not appear if the lights are on.

Later some months, the short film became famous online, going from about 8000 views to over a million, which drew the attention of Hollywood directors and producers.

Since 2014, she has appeared in several short films including See You Soon, Pictured, Not So Fast, Coffer, Attic Panic, and Closet Space.

In 2016, she played the role, Esther, in the feature film of Lights Out. The following year, she appeared in the movie,   Annabelle: Creation alongside Miranda Otto and Talitha Bateman.

Most recently, she starred in Shazam! alongside Jack Dylan Grazer.
