The son of Morton Halperin, Mark Halperin was born on January 11, 1965, in New York City, USA. He was born under the Capricorn sign to his father and mother, Ina Weinstein Halperin Young. Mark spent most of his childhood in Maryland, USA before moving to New York.

Halperin started his career in 1988 with ABC News as a desk assistant. Mark worked hard and soon became a researcher for World News Tonight. With his hard work, in 1992, Mark received the opportunity to cover the presidential campaign of Bill Clinton.

Not just as a journalist and pundit, Halperin also worked as a producer with ABC. Mark worked as a political analyst for different networks like Time Magazine, ABC News, and  MSNBC. Halperin also served as a board member in 2006 of the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College.

On October 26, 2017, five women accused Mark of sexually harassing them at work. Mark accepted the acquisition of pursuing relationships with women but denied the accusation of touching them in private areas.

Halperin temporarily quit his work to deal with the situation but the victims grew in numbers and Mark denied most of the acquisition. Finally, HBO, CNN, NBC, and MSNBC terminated the contract they had with Mark.
