Nancy Leigh Kelley (Naleigh) was born as Nancy Leigh Mi-Eun on 24th November 2008 in South Korea. Her parents Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley planned to adopt her from Korea because Katherine’s elder sister Meg was also from Korea. Unfortunately, Nancy was born with a heart condition, which was corrected through a open heart surgery when she was just three-months-old. The couple was suggested to consult their own doctor regarding her condition so, they gave Naleigh’s medical records to Josh’s father who is a heart surgeon. Later, the couple was told that she has perfect health.

Eleven-year-old Nancy is currently in her first year of middle school. She has two younger siblings. Her little sister Adelaide Marie Hope Kelley was born on 4th April 2012. She was brought into the family shortly after her birth. Katherine and Josh planned Adelaide’s adoption before she was born. Kelly’s parents, Katherine and Josh met in the spring of 2005 when Heigl was making a feature in the music video os Kelley’s son “Only You“. The duo started hanging out after then and became good friends. Their friendship turned into a relationship in a short period of time. And by June 2006, the couple were already engaged. Josh even went on to write a song “Hey Katie” and dedicated it to his then-girlfriend Katherine. During their time in a relationship as per Katherine’s wish, they did not live together.
