Early Life

Leati Joseph Anoa’i, known as Roman Reigns, was born on May 25, 1985, in Pensacola, Florida and was taken to father Late Sika Anoa’i and mother Patricia A. Anoa’i. His father, Sika, is a retired professional wrestler, and his mother was a homemaker. He had a brother named Mathew Tapunu’i Anoa’i, a popular professional wrestler named Rosey, until his death on April 17, 2017. Roman belongs to a wrestler’s family named Anoa’i, with members such as his cousins Yokozuna, Rikishi, Umaga, The Tonga Kid, and The Usos. Alongside, he shares non-biological relations with Dwayne Johnson in ”The Rock”.

Furthermore, the 31-year-old wrestler attended Pensacola Catholic High school. Later he moved to Escambia high school in his hometown-based school. Although he grew up in a family full of wrestlers, Roman’s interest grew in football, and he played in his school days. During his senior high school days, he was named defensive player of the year by the daily morning newspaper Pensacola News Journal.

Upon completion of college Roman attended Georgia Institute of Technology and played alongside Detroit Lion star player Calvin Johnson. Moreover, he continued playing during his University days and graduated with a Major in management. 

Nevertheless, seeing his abilities, he was signed by professional teams such as Minnesota Viking, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Edmonton Eskimos. During his time at Eskimos, he played a most crucial knock against Hamilton Tigercats, where he tied for the team lead with five tackles and had a forced fumble.

He was diagnosed with leukemia during this time, so he decided to retire from football on November 10. After leaving football, Reign followed family tradition since he had the perfect physique and joined WWE in 2010.

Roman married fitness model Galina Becker in December 2014. The couple exchanged their vows in a Private ceremony in the Bahamas at Disney’s Castaway Cay by the Walt Disney Company. They looked perfect for each other on their wedding days, where he looked hunk in a light blue suit, and his partner looked stunning in a white gown.

Initially, the couple met during their University days at the Georgia Institute of technology. Ultimately after dating for a couple of years, they decided to get engaged on February 26, 2012 and married two years later.
