Sean Bean was born as Shaun Mark Bean on April 17, 1959, in Handsworth, West Riding of Yorkshire. His father, Brian K. Bean, was an owner of a fabrication company. His mother, Rita Bean (née Tuckwood), worked in the same company as a secretary along with fifty other employees. He grew up with his younger sister Lorraine

When Shaun was young, he was very passionate about playing football. He wanted to pursue a career in football. During his off days, he used to study at Rotherham College of Arts and Technology and studied welding. While he was in college, he came to know about an art class.
