Troy Garity was born on 7th July 1973, in Los Angeles California. As per his nationality, Garity is American and holds mixed ethnic of Irish (father), Dutch, English, Scottish, French, Italian, and remote Norwegian (mother).

His father Tom Hayden was a political activist, author, and politician whereas his mother Jane Fonda is an actress, writer, and political activist.

In addition, Garity is the grandson of legendary actor Henry Fonda and a nephew of actor Peter Fonda. The actor has a half-sister from his mother’s first marriage to the director and cinematographer Vanessa Vadim. He also has adopted sister Mary Williams.
