Born in 1989 in Connecticut, football player Aaron Hernandez got All-American honors at the University of Florida and established himself as a quality NFL tight end for the New England Patriots. However, his promising career derailed when he got arrested and charged with the first-degree murder of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd in June 2013.


Later in May 2014, Hernandez indicted in connection with two murders related to a drive-by shooting in 2012. By later from 2007, he established himself as a sturdy blocker and star tight end at University of Florida. On April 19, 2017, at 3:05 a.m, he transported to UMass Memorial Hospital-Leominster, where he was reported dead at 4:07 am. He had smoked K2, a drug associated with psychosis, within 30 hours of his death.

State Department of Correction spokesman Christopher Fallon first said no suicide note was found in Hernandez’s single-occupant cell. On April 20, 2017, investigators informed that three handwritten notes were next to a Bible opened to John 3:16 and that “John 3:16” written on his forehead in ink.

After the release of the statement, Hernandez’s fiancée and daughter sued the Patriots and the NFL for causing Hernandez’s death and depriving his daughter of her father’s companionship, arguing that Hernandez’s NFL career had caused “the most severe case of [CTE] medically seen” in a person at his age. The NFL player sometimes showed keen insight and observational skills, while other times the gaps in memory that was highly unusual for a young person.
